Manufacturer: Mauser Model: P08
This is a beautiful example of an extremely difficult to find all original 1941 dated Mauser "byf" coded German Army Luger pistol rig "serial number 8"! Complete with two original matching Luger magazines, 1942 dated holster and an original "Eagle/655" proofed takedown tool. Although this is a standard WWII Nazi/German Army contract Luger, these single digit serial numbers are extremely difficult to find. Obviously this pistol was the "8th" Luger manufactured in the very beginning of the "x" letter series block. The top of the chamber area is stamped "41" for the year of manufacture with "byf" the secret wartime code on the front toggle assembly. It has the standard military style serial numbering with the full serial number and letter prefix "8x" on the front of the frame and both of the original matching magazines with the serial number "8" on all the parts. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with the double "Eagle/655" Waffenamt proof and a single eagle firing proof. This pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. As noted it has two matching magazines, both are the late type three Army versions with the pinned aluminum bases that are marked "8/x" and "8/x/+" respectively. It is complete with a 1941 dated black leather holster, the back side is marked "bdq.41/Eagle WaA170/P08".
