Exceptional 18 Inch Marble Arms Game Getter Model 1908 Combination Rifle/Shotgun with Original Woode
Manufactured between 1908 and 1918. Blade front sight and folding notch rear sight (loose in the dovetail slot), with the caliber markings on the right side of the chamber block, "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/ MARBLE SAFETY AXE CO./ GLADSTONE, MICH.U.S.A./ MARBLE ARMS & MFG.CO./ SUCCESSOR" on the left side, and "GAME GETTER" on the frame below. The box is marked 18 inch on the end and was made for this length of gun. This helps to document this gun as original 18 inch length. Serrated hammer with mobile striker, checkered grips with Marble markings, a factory peep sight mounted behind the hammer, and a steel tube stock, which folds up under the gun for storage. Complete with a two piece cleaning rod and the correct wooden box numbered to gun with the lid having the maker and model information. This lot also includes an unmarked leather holster for a Game Getter for a barrel shorter than 18 inches. The holster is too short for this particular Model 1908.

Excellent. The rifle/shotgun retains 98% original blue finish with some light spotting and a few minor scratches contained to the frame and the development of a brown patina (strongest on the barrels and backstrap). There is some satin gray patina at the muzzle. The grips are excellent with some minor scratches (mostly near or on the butt). The checkering is crisp. The holster is very good with some minor scratches and scuffs, with tight stitching. The box is fine with the exception of some missing pieces of wood near the lid (enough wood remains to secure lid). Overall the box markings are strong.
