Excellent original oil painting signed lower left O. Weighorst with 2C brand measuring 24” x 30” not including frame. This exact painting is pictured in section 79 of the book entitled “Olaf Weighorst” by William Reed published 1969. A Biltmore Galleries label is affixed to the back of the frame from whom Little John’s Inc. obtained this fine painting approximately a decade ago. Steve Rose the owner of Biltmore gallery and prominent Western art dealer and expert convinced Little John that it is one of Olaf’s best. It hung on the wall of little John’s personal office for almost a year before Keith and Lori Candee convinced him to even price it. The work is entitled “Arizona Riders” and shows the landscape around Prescott or Payson Arizona in our opinion. Our associate and consulting expert in the art business Frank Semmo was a long time personal friend of Weighorst and sold hundreds of his works. Mr. Semmo confirmed Steve Rose’s opinion of this excellent artwork as he rated it a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale also. In his lifetime Olaf Weighorst was considered the top Western artist in America. Keith and Lori Candee Collection. Est.: $70,000-$140,000.
