This is an excellent example of a very scarce and original early pre-war Walther "480" code P.38 pistol. These early "480" code pistols were the first true Nazi Army contract pistols manufactured. The "480" code was only used for a very short time before the factory switched over to the "ac" code. The slide has the standard "P.38/480", code markings followed by serial number "2334". The right side has the standard single eagle firing proof in between two "eagle/359" Waffenamt acceptance proofs. The left side of the trigger guard bow has the early "480" code markings. Most parts correctly marked with a single "eagle/359" acceptance proof. It has a set of dark brown ribbed plastic grips with the correct three mold marks on the back sides of each grip. Both grips are correctly numbered the pistol with the last three digits of serial number "334" over a single "eagle/359" Waffenamt on the right side. It is complete with one Walther proofed unnumbered magazine that is marked with a single "P.38v" on the left side and a single "eagle/359" Waffenamt on the spine.
