Produced in 1943. Fixed sights, with the intertwined "USS" logo and "U.S.& S. CO. / SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A." on the left side of the slide and "P" on tip. "RCD" (LtC Robert C. Downie) inspected frame, with "P" below the magazine catch, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" on the right. Equipped with a "HS" and "P" marked High Standard barrel, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, narrow hammer and arched mainspring housing, and long grip safety. Reinforced Keyes-Fibre grips and full blue magazine marked "R" on the toe. The US&S has become one of the more sought after of all the 1911-A1 pistols.
