Excellent World War II U.S. Saginaw Steering Gear/S'G' M1 Carbine with Sling
Produced after 1 April 1943, when Saginaw Steering Gear procured the manufacturing facilities of the Irwin-Pederson Arms Company after their contract to produce M1 carbines was canceled by the Ordnance Department. Fixed front and adjustable peep rear sights, Buffalo Arms barrel dated "7-1943", Type I barrel band, flat bolt, milled trigger guard, "IP-A" pushbutton safety and "IP-W" magazine catch. Smooth pistol grip stock with 2-rivet handguard, high wood forearm, Ordnance "cannon" proof and boxed "S.G." stamp on the right side of the buttstock, "RSG" in the sling cutout, green canvas sling, oiler and a "PM-S.G." marked checkered buttplate.

Condition: Excellent, with 97% of the original parkerized finish, a few bright spots, and scattered handling marks and spotting. 90% of the original blue remains on the bolt. Stock is also excellent, with light pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. These Irwin-Pederson serial range Saginaw completed M1 carbines are very desirable and extremely rare!
