Excellent World War II Nazi 1940-42 Code Mauser Luger Pistol Rig with One Matching Magazine, Takedown Tool and "1940" Dated Holster

This is an outstanding example of an original pre-war 1940 dated, "42 code" Nazi Mauser Luger rig. These Lugers feature a salt blue metal finish with checkered walnut grips. The chamber area is marked with the full date of "1940" with the new "42" code marking for the Mauser factory on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the early double "Eagle/655" proofs and the single "Eagle/Swastika" firing proof, with both proofmarks also on the top rear section of the barrel. The left side of breechblock is also marked with the eagle firing proof. The safety and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. This pistol is complete with two late war Army magazines, both have the pinned aluminum bases. One has an unmarked aluminum base while the other one is marked "2134/b/+/Eagle/655". This beautiful Luger is complete with a black 1940 dated leather holster marked "KARL BOCKER/1940/WALDBROL/Eagle/WaA721" on the back. The tool has a partial Eagle proof on the front. This holster has a nice, large Nazi Eagle metal tunic insignia attached to the front of the holster.

Excellent with 98% of the blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The markings are clear and sharp. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides, with a slightly orange color overall. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with a nice dark black color overall with clear distinct markings, and tight stitching. The holster only shows minor handling marks and scuffing in some areas. This Luger has all matching numbers and the one magazine as noted above.
