This is an all original, completely matching 1939 dated "S/42" Code German Army contract Luger pistol. These were the standard WWII Lugers used by all German forces and are a main collector Luger in any military collection. The chamber is dated 1939 and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory. The right side barrel extension is stamped double "Eagle/63" Waffenamt proof along with the single eagle firing proof. It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (761) on the major components, with the last two digits (61) stamped on the various small parts. It is complete with two, type two Army magazines that are marked: "761/q/Eagle 63" and "761/q/+/Eagle 63" respectively. This rig is complete with a beautiful russet brown leather holster that is marked on the back: "VOGELS/KOLN/1939/WaA387", that also includes an original "Eagle/63" proofed luger take down tool.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish with minor wear on the high spots with slight thinning on the grip straps. The grips are also in excellent condition overall with minor handling marks on the sides. Mechanically excellent. The excellent holster has a beautiful red russet brown color overall with minimal handling marks with only very minor handling marks. As noted this Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines.
