Excellent World War II 1939 Dated Nazi S/42 Code Army Police Rework Luger Pistol Rig with Two Matching Magazines and 1939 Police Holster

This is an unusual 1939 dated "S/42" Code German Army contract Luger pistol, with two matching magazines. The unusual aspects of this example are that it has all the indications of being a Nazi Police contract Luger; e.g. it has two Haenel Schmeisser magazines, sear bar over the side plate, and Police issue type holster however it does not fall into the documented Police Lugers serial number ranges, it does not have any Commercial proofs or Police acceptance proofs anywhere. Our thoughts were that it may have been an early Army contract Luger that utilized left over Police components during assembly? The chamber is dated 1939 and the front toggle has the wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory. The right side barrel extension has the standard double "Eagle/63" Waffenamt proof along with the single eagle firing proof. It is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (6528) on the major components, with the last two digits (28) stamped on the various small parts. It is complete with two, type two Police magazines marked, Haenel Schmeisser on the sides, with "6528/n/Eagle 63" and "6528/n/+/Eagle 63" respectively. This rig is complete with a beautiful black leather holster marked on the back "OTTO SINDEL/ BERLIN/1939/Police Eagle Proof." and no luger take down tool.

Guage: 9 mm Luger

Very fine with 95% of the blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots with some thinning and slight browning on the grip straps. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering showing a very few minor handling marks. The holster is also in excellent condition with a nice even black color overall with tight stitching and clear distinct markings on the back. As noted this unusual luger has matching numbers to include both magazines.
