Excellent WWII Nazi Gustloff K98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
This is an excellent example of a mid-war production K98 rifle as manufactured by the Gustloff factory. The top of the receiver is marked with the "eagle/749" over "bcd" the wartime code for the Gustloff Werke at Weimar and "43" for the year of manufacture and the left side is marked with the Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The left side receiver wall is marked "Mod 98". The left rear portion of the barrel is marked with the firing proof and "? S arrow eagle/13" proof. The rifle has the mid-war pattern all milled components to include the closed and milled upper barrel band. Hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. The stock and handguard are the correct "bcd" produced laminated wartime versions and the stock has the correct single "C" proof and Waffenamt on the lower stock area. Complete with an original wartime cross-hatched leather sling, cleaning rod and bayonet with metal scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet has Bakelite grips, is mis-matched and marked "cof / 43" (Eickhorn). The scabbard is matching and the frog is marked "0/0676 / 0039 / 43" on the back.

The rifle retains 95% plus original blue finish with some thinning on the muzzle end of the barrel and some light edge wear on the receiver and heavier edge wear on the trigger guard. The stock is very fine with scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The sling, bayonet, scabbard and frog are all very good.
