Model 1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Co., of Ithaca, New York in 1944. Shipping records indicate that 12500 pistols in the 120900- 1260000 serial number range were shipped to the Naval Supply Depot in Oakland, Calif., and 3600 pistols in this serial number range were shipped to the Army Air Corps. The pistol has a gray-green parkerized finish with blued barrel and checkered brown plastic stocks. The receiver feed ramp is bright. The trigger is stamped with a knurled face. The slide stop and safety lock are grooved. The pistol has a seven rib mainspring housing and a narrow trigger with borderless knurling on the spur. The High Standard barrel is marked "HS" on the right side of the lug and "P" on the left. The left side of the trigger guard and the inside of the barrel channel are stamped with the distinctive Ithaca factory proofmarks. The Ordnance 'Shell and Flame' insignia is stamped on the inside of the barrel channel and on the rear of the slide above the firing pin hole. The right side of the receiver has the Ordnance escutcheon stamped behind the stock and "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/ No 12600434" roll-stamped in two lines behind the slide stop hole. "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" is roll-stamped in one line in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the frame has the Ordnance final inspection mark "FJA" stamped diagonally below the slide stop and a large "P" proofmark stamped behind the magazine release. A large "P" proofmark is stamped on the top of the slide ahead of the rear sight. "ITHACA GUN CO.INC./ITHACA,N,Y," is roll-stamped in two lines on the left side of the slide. The Keyes Fibre Co., stocks have reinforcing rings around the screw holes, interior strengthening ribs and mold marks and a five-pointed star on the inside. The full blue magazine is marked with an "S" (Schovill Mfg. Co.) on the top of the floor plate lip.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% plus of the correct original parkerized finish. The barrel has cycling wear on the chamber and has 90% of the blue finish. The stocks are in excellent condition. The frame and receiver markings are sharp. The magazine has 95% of the blue finish. Mechanically excellent. This is an excellent example of a 1944 production Ithaca Model 1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol.
