Excellent Smith & Wesson Perfected Model 38 Double Action Top Break Revolver
This was the last of Smith & Wesson's top break revolvers to be introduced. Manufactured from 1909 to 1920, this is a unique top break with both a barrel latch and a side thumb release on the left side of the frame. It is also the only Smith & Wesson top break revolver to have the trigger guard integral to the frame rather than a separate piece. Two line address/ patent dates on top of the barrel rib flanked by Maltese crosses, "38 S.&W. CTG" flanked by Maltese crosses on the left side and the S&W logo on the right side plate. Integral blade front and notch rear sights. Five-round fluted cylinder with auto ejector. Casehardened trigger and hammer and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with S&W logo at the top. All numbers match.

Condition: Excellent plus . The revolver retains 99% original nickel finish with some slight muzzle wear and a small area of oxidation on the right side of the butt toe. There are a few overall scattered light scratches. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
