Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Single Action revolver chambered for the .32-44 S&W cartridge with target front and rear sights. Although this revolver has the features of the New Model No. 3 Target Model, the serial number falls within the New Model No. 3 serial number range. The revolver has a nickel-plated barrel, frame and cylinder with color casehardened hammer and trigger guard. The black hard rubber two-piece checkered grips have the S&W monogram on the top flat. The revolver has a blue screw-adjustable target rear sight is mounted on the barrel catch and blue square front sight with integral bead mounted in a groove on the barrel rib. The barrel rib is roll-stamped "+ SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A+." in one line with Maltese Crosses at either end of the legend. "32-44 S.& W. CTG" is roll stamped on the left side of the barrel. The S&W monogram is roll-stamped on the right side of the frame. The full serial number, "32005" is stamped on the butt, the rear face of the cylinder and on the inside of the barrel rib. The partial serial number "2005" is stamped on the bottom of the barrel latch. All of the visible serial numbers match. The combination of target sights and the .32-44 S&W chambering is rare on revolvers in the New Model No. 3 serial number range.

Excellent. The revolver retains nearly 95% of the original nickel-plated and color casehardened finish. The nickel-plated finish shows minimal handling wear. The case colors on the hammer and protected areas of the trigger guard are strong. The front and rear sight retain nearly all of the blue finish. The grips are excellent. All of the markings are sharp. This is an excellent example of a caliber 32-44 S&W New Model No. 3 Single Action revolver with target front and rear sights in excellent condition.
