Manufactured between 1893 and 1905 with a total production of only 1,251. Blade front and windage adjustable notch rear sights. Two line, two block address/patent dates on the rib flanking "MODEL OF 91" in the center, one line caliber marking on the left side and the Smith & Wesson trade mark on the right side of the frame. Casehardened hammer and trigger guard, with recoil shield, matching numbers on the front strap, barrel and latch, smooth trigger, "PAT'D AUG.30.02" under the logo on left grip and a back strap spur. With an original purple hinged lid box with correct end label.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% plus bright original high polish blue finish with some wear on the lower front strap and muzzle. There are a few minor scratches and a small amount of light spotting on the barrel. The hammer retains virtually all of the bright original case colors and the trigger guard retains almost all of the original case colors, bright in protected areas and fading on the balance. The are also excellent with a few minor scratches on the bottoms, a few minor dings and crisp checkering. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent. The box is good with some of the outer covering coming loose and some corner wear. The end label is 95% intact.
