Manufactured in 1960, this is an excellent example of an early Second Generation Single Action Army. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the un-circled Rampant Colt. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt "VP" triangle proof, the rear is marked "P" and the right front is marked with a "P". The matching serial number is marked on the frame and under the grip on the left side of the front and back straps. The matching assembly number, "271" is marked on the loading gate and right rear of the frame. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, casehardened frame, with remaining parts blue with polished hammer sides. The revolver is fitted with smooth two-piece walnut grips, numbered "376" in the inside. Complete with the original black hinged lid box numbered to the gun, bore brush, original waxed paper and papers.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original blue finish with a few light scratches and a few small areas of minor spotting on the barrel and cylinder. The frame retains all of the original bright case colors. The grips are also excellent with a couple of very small pressure dents. The markings are sharp. The revolver appears to have been fired very little. The box is excellent.
