Manufactured in 1928. The pistol has the Colt high polish commercial blue finish, blue barrel with polished chamber and full checkered walnut stocks. The two-tone magazine is has an unmarked floor plate. The serial number is stamped on the right side of the receiver below "GOVERNMENT MODEL." The left side of the trigger guard is stamped with the assembler's number "1" above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark. "S" is stamped on the top of the frame to the right of the disconnector hole. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE.45" followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The left side of the slide is stamped with the two-line Hartford address and patent dates. The barrel has an "S" commercial sales mark. With a royal blue cardboard carton. The lid has a white paper end label marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL". The bottom of the carton has a blue and white end label marked "COLT AUTOMATIC PISTOL .45/RIMLESS SMOKELESS" in two lines. The serial number on the bottom of the carton is illegible. The carton contains a non-factory wooden cleaning rod, a copy of a modern Pennsylvania concealed weapons permit and other modern documents.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original blue finish. There are light scuff marks and some minor holster wear on the slide. The frame has several light scratches and a small sport of rust on the left side of the trigger guard. The barrel retains more than 90% of the blue finish. There is a small spot of flattened checkering on the left stock. The magazine is excellent with 90% or more of the two-tone finish intact. The frame and slide markings are sharp. The carton is poor. One end of the lid is missing and part of the front edge is torn away. All four corners of the lid are broken. The interior of the carton is dirty and stained. This is an nice example of a pre-war Colt Government Model .45 Automatic pistol with carton.
