Excellent Pre-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips

This is an excellent example of a Colt Single Action Army revolver that was manufactured in 1929. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address and "45 COLT" is marked on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the front and back strap under the grip. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with the last two numbers of the serial number, "11". The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the number "1" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof. The loading gate and right rear of the frame are marked with the matching assembly number "1019". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, and fitted with two piece smooth ivory grips with the matching serial number marked in pencil on the inside of the left panel.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains 99% plus original blue finish with some minor edge or box wear. The hammer and frame also retain 99% original bright case colors with some light fading and a small area of several minor scratches on the right rear of the frame. The period replacement ivory grips are excellent with a very small chip on the bottom of the right panel and a very pleasant light aged patina. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent.
