Produced in 1938, the 357 Magnum was the last cartridge adapted to the Single Action Army before production was shut down for WWII, with only 525 produced. As the 357 was a new cartridge at the time, the market for revolvers chambered for it consisted of early adaptors with a need for state of the art firepower, making it virtually a custom item. Equipped with blade front and notch rear sights, with the one line address on top of the barrel and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .357" on the left side. The smokeless powder frame is marked on the left side with the Colt two-line, two-patent date markings and the Rampant Colt, with "268" on the loading gate and rear of the frame, "55" on the rear of the cylinder and "4/ VP" on the left side of the trigger guard. Fitted with the standard Colt black hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt logos at the top and "352619" scratched on the inside.
BBL: 5 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 357 magnum

Some signs of minimal and careful firing are present. The frame shows bright and vivid case colors. The correct replacement grips are in excellent condition. Mechanically excellent. This is a superb example of a late production Colt Single Action Army revolver in a very desirable 357 magnum caliber.
