Excellent Pre-War Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol
This pre-war Colt Government Model semi-automatic pistol was manufactured in 1930. The left side of the slide has the standard two line address/patent dates marking, with "COLT/ AUTOMATIC/ CALIBRE.45" next to the Rampant Colt on the right side. The right side of the frame is correctly marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number. The trigger guard is marked with the number "60" on the right side and "1 / VP" on the reverse. Blade front and square notch rear sights, with wide checkered hammer, short milled trigger, long grip safety and lanyard ring. The slide stop, thumb safety, and arched mainspring housing are checkered. Matching serial number underneath the firing pin stop. Fitted with checkered grips and furnished with an unmarked two-tone magazine.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original blue finish with a bright gray patina on the high edges and the front sides of the slide, light scratches and dents concentrated around the slide catch and ahead of the rear sight. A brown patina is forming on the front strap with mild pitting on the backstrap and dull gray on the grip safety. The grips are very fine, with light pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
