Excellent Pre-WWII Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter
Colt Single Action Army revolver with factory letter that states this revolver was shipped to the Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden Company in San Francisco, California, on April 7, 1927. The revolver has a blued barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap, casehardened frame and hammer and two-piece, black checkered hard rubber grips. The grips have the Rampant Colt trademark in an oval at the top. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in one line and the left side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the caliber: "32 W.C.F.". The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt 'three-date in two-line' patent markings followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The left front trigger bow is stamped with a "3" assembler's mark above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark. The inside of the loading gate is stamped with the assembly number "76". The full serial number, "350993", is stamped on the bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard and the partial serial number "93" is stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. The factory letter lists the revolver caliber as "32/20", the finish as "blue" and the stocks as "Rubber".

Excellent plus. The revolver retains approximately 99% of the original blue and casehardened finish and shows minimal handling wear. Finish wear is limited to some very minor thinning at the muzzle and on the backstrap. The blue finish has no significant handling marks or scratches. The frame, loading gate and hammer have vivid case colors and show no handling wear. The trigger and screws retain nearly all of the original niter blue finish. The hard rubber grips are in mint condition. All of the markings are crisp and clear. The bore is bright. The action functions perfectly. This is an excellent example of a pre-WWII Colt Single Action Army revolver in nearly new condition.
