This is an excellent original example of an early original 1937 dated Mauser Luger pistol with the rust blue finish and the straw colored small parts. This is the rarest of the S/42 coded pistols and was made in early 1937. The top of the chamber area is dated 1937 with the "S/42" code markings on the top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/63" Waffenamt proofs next to the single spread winged Nazi eagle firing proof which also appears on the right side of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock. The eagle/63 proof is also marked on the left rear of the barrel. The matching serial number is marked on the front of the frame (with letter suffix), left side of the barrel extension and on the bottom of the barrel, with the bore marking "8,81". The partial serial number "14" is marked on most of the small parts. The upper safety area and extractor are marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Blue unmarked magazine with aluminum base numbered to another gun (2385g) and fitted with un-numbered checkered walnut grips. Complete with a 1939 dated black leather flap holster with an eagle swastika over "WaA 300" proof and ""O. REICHEL / LENGEFELD" on the back.

The holster is very fine with some wear, scuffs and flex cracks, and tight stitching.
