This is a just a magnificent, example of an all original, pre-war Krieghoff Luger that is complete with two matching magazines, holster and take down tool. These Krieghoff Lugers all featured the high polish commercial blue style finish with straw colored small parts. The Krieghoff Luger was the only officially approved luger that was used by the Luftwaffe. It is estimated that approximately 2500 lugers were produced in 1937. The specific pistol is a fairly late 1937 production model that has the correct C-2 type marking on the toggle that consist of "H-K anchor/Krieghoff/Suhl" which has the letter "I" over the letter "S" in Suhl with the slightly angled letter "U" with the right corner faulted. The chamber are is correctly dated "1937". The right side of the barrel extension has the early LWaA1st-stageII inspection stamp with the Luftwaffe acceptance proof. The barrel is correctly marked on the underside with the bore diameter, LWaA inspection proof then the serial number along with a second Luftwaffe barrel proof on the right side. The full serial number is on front left side of the barrel extension, bottom of barrel, and front of the frame, and the last digits of the serial number "49" are on the trigger, breech bolt, takedown lever, thumb safety lever, side plate, and toggle assembly. The extractor and safety are correctly marked "GELADEN" and GESICHERT respectively. It is fitted with a correct pair of Krieghoff brown plastic grips with the coarse checkering and smooth border around the edges with no mold marks or proofs on the back side. As noted it is complete with two original matching magazines that have the nickel plated body with the aluminum bases correctly marked with serial number "9749" with the correct LWaA 1st acceptance, stage I early proof that is upside down above the serial numbers. This rig is accompanied by an unmarked black leather holster with black thread that has a single LWaA2 proof on the back inner wall with an original Luger takedown tool, that also has a single LWaA2 proof.

Condition: Excellent overall with 97% plus of the original pre-war Krieghoff high polish blue finish with just minor edge and high spot wear, mostly on the side plate hump, the front edges of the frame rails and the front sight base barrel band. The smaller parts retain 60% of their straw colors. The grips are also in excellent condition with some minor handling marks with no cracks, chips or damage. The holster is in fine re-dyed condition with a clear Krieghoff proof on the inside. As noted this Luger has all matching numbers including the two magazines. A beautiful example of a super nice pre-war military contract Krieghoff Luger rig.
