Excellent Late WWII Nazi Gustloff-Werke  bcd/ 4  Code Model 98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
This is an excellent example of a late war production K98 rifle as manufactured by the Gustloff factory. The top of the receiver is marked with an eagle proof over "bcd" the wartime code for the Gustloff Werke at Weimar and "4" for the year of manufacture, the left side is marked with a Nazi firing proof and the right side with a very small eagle proof, Nazi firing proof and the number "1". The left side receiver wall is marked "Mod 98". The left rear portion of the barrel is marked with the firing proof and the serial number. The rifle has the late war pattern all stamped components to include the stamped and welded barrel bands. Hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters.The stock and handguard are the correct "bcd" produced laminated wartime versions with the correct single "C" proof on the lower stock area and cupped buttplate with firing pin hole. All visible numbers match with un-numbered stock. Complete with a "clc 44" code bayonet with serrated Bakelite handle, metal scabbard and canvas frog.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 90% plus original blue finish with some thinning on the forward portion of the barrel, bolt handle and floor plate. The trigger guard is a mix of the original blue finish and balance a smooth plum patina. The stock is also excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks. The bayonet is excellent. The scabbard is good with overall minor pitting and the frog is good plus. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
