Excellent Japanese Type 26 Double Action Revolver
These pistols were produced from 1894 to 1923 and were primarily used by NCOs during WWII. This is a fourth serial number block. They are break open, double action only revolvers that the left side plate hinges at the rear of the frame to expose the internal parts. The right side of the frame has the four intertwined cannon ball symbol for the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal over the Kanji markings for Type 26 and the serial number. It has fixed sights and checkered grips and a lanyard loop on the bottom of the frame.

Excellent. The revolver retains over 90% original finish showing light wear and flaking on the barrel and flaking on each side of the frame ahead of the grips. The grip straps and butt are a smooth brown. Most of the original fire blue finish remains on the trigger and hammer, thinning some on the trigger. The grips are excellent with only light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. The mechanics are excellent.
