Excellent Factory Engraved and Silver Finished Moore Number One Single Shot Derringer
Produced by Moore's Patent Fire Arms Company from 1860 to 1865, before production was taken over by National Arms, then Colt. Blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with "MOORES PAT. FA. CO. BROOKLYN N.Y." running from muzzle to breech, with a light border pattern running along the top, scroll designs on the sides near the butt, stars on either side of the muzzle and a pair of forward pointing arrows. Large areas of punch-dot backed scrollwork are present on the sides of the frame at the breech and covering the sides of the trigger shroud, with small matte panels above and below the grip screw, scroll designs ahead of and behind the hammer, and the checkering on the back of the grip extending up to fill a shield panel.

Excellent. Approximately 95-97% of the original silver is present on the barrel, with a few light handling marks, small areas of flaking on the underside of the muzzle and left side of the lug, and a fine aged patina, darker in the protected areas. The frame shows 60% of the silver, with an attractive patina on both the silver and exposed brass. Mechanically excellent.
