Excellent Early Production Colt Model 1902 Military Semi-Automatic Pistol
Manufactured in 1902, the first year of production. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the frame, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Features front slide checkering, blue barrel and blue magazine marked "PAT'D SEPT 9 1884"" on the bottom. Left side of the slide is marked ""BROWNING'S PATENT" / APR. 20, 1897 SEPT. 9, 1902" followed by "COLT'S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.", with the circled Rampant Colt at the rear, the serial number is marked on the left side of the frame and the right side of the slide is marked with the early "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" behind the ejection port and "MODEL 1902" in front of the port. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish with scattered minor surface blemishes, thinning and flaking. Overall high edge wear and scattered minor dings and scratches. 97% of the original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also excellent with only light handling marks and very crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
