Excellent Documented Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel 16 Gauge Shotgun
Manufactured in 1948 this Winchester Model 21 features a solid concave rib with a single steel bead sight, with 2 3/4" chambers, choked full/modified with ejectors. The left rear barrel is marked "WINCHESTER 16 GAUGE / 2 3/4 CHAM" and the right side of the water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the three line "MADE IN U.S.A.", model and address on the left side. Single selective trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE". Mounted with a checkered beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a non-factory vented Southern Arms Company recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 7/8". The accompanying Cody fact sheet verifies the serial number, that the shotgun was started on 10-11-48 for stock, gauge, barrel length, chokes, single trigger, ejectors, automatic safety, pistol grip stock, standard finish and a hard rubber buttplate. Final date is marked 10-14-48; 2-18-53. Other remarks reads 2-16-49 for beavertail; Order Number 2-18-53 check complete Action.

Condition: Very fine. The shotgun retains 95% original finish on the barrels with some muzzle wear (some minor pitting on the right barrel), wear under the forearm, a smooth gray and brown patina on the bottom of the 70% blue receiver with high edge wear. Overall there are a few minor scuffs and scratches. The wood is also very fine with 99% original finish with a few minor scratches and dings. The checkering remains sharp. Mechanically excellent.
