This is an excellent example of a scarce late production Bergmann semi-automatic pistol as manufactured in Herstal Belgium and converted to the newer mechanism at a Danish Arsenal in 1921. The left barrel extension is marked "ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS PIEPER, HERSTAL-LIEGE, BERGMANN'S PATENT." on the left side with "BREVETE S.G.D.G." towards and "M.1910/21" below the frame rail. The right side of the barrel has the following proofs all in a row, early Belgium Lion/PV, crown over R, star/B, Belgium Perron and Belgium ELG proof. The right side of the barrel extension also has the Belgium Lion/PV proof, star/B and Perron proofs. There is a property number or unit number (1378) on the right rear section of the frame. The serial number (17663) on the frame appears to have been restamped with the magazine serial number (17663) clearing having been restamped. Note that the frame and magazine have the same number. Fitted with smooth grips.
