This is a unique example of a model 1908 commercial Luger that was subsequently reworked to police specifications by addition of a sear and magazine safety. Fixed sights, with a blank chamber and the "DWM monogram stamped on the toggle. Crown/B and Crown/U proofs are stamped on the barrel underside and the left barrel extension with the addition of a Crown/G proof on the barrel underside and a Crown/U proof on the breechblock. Properly marked safety position and extractor. Full serial number on front of frame and barrel underside with the partial serial number (66) on the side plate and toggle link. Takedown latch has been over stamped to match gun. Straw finished small parts, sear safety, and fitted with checkered grips (both panels marked "Peehwe" in pencil on the backs). "HAENEL SCMEISSER PATENT" marked magazine with aluminum base numbered to a different gun ("2/ 7357").

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 95% original blue finish showing some thinning to a brown patina with some minor edge wear. There is some very scattered minor pitting. The small parts retain 60% original straw color. The grips are also very fine with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically fine.
