Manufactured in 1973. Note that the caliber marking on this revolver is on the right side of the barrel above the ejector housing ("COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45"). Don Wilkerson in his book "The Post-War Single Action Revolver, 1955-1975" does not identify Second Generation revolvers with the caliber marking on the right side of the barrel. He only notes, "The major variations in barrel makings involve the length of the address line on top of the barrel, the caliber designation line on the left side of the barrel, and the space between the caliber designation line and the frame" (page 22). The revolver has the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel and the left side of the frame has the two line three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. Trigger guard is marked with the letter "K" on the right side and the letter "P" and triangle proof on the left side. The matching serial number is marked on the grip straps under the grip and frame underside. Fitted with smooth walnut grips numbered to the gun. Included is the correct stagecoach Colt box with cardboard sleeve.
