Excellent Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter
This is an excellent, totally original example of a pre-World War I production Colt (civilian) Government Model Pistol. According to the included factory letter, this pistol was one of 6 shipped to the Seattle Hardware Company in Washington State on July 19, 1915. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and two line caliber marking on the right. Blue barrel, with polished chamber top and no markings. Right side of the frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number, with checkered wide hammer, thumb safety and slide catch, long trigger, short grip safety, flat mainspring housing, lanyard loop and checkered grips. With a two tone magazine with a lanyard loop on the base.

Excellent, with 98% of the bright original blue finish, showing some minor high edge wear, the start of a gray patina on the grip straps, some dings on the rear sight and mild handling marks overall. Grips are excellent with minimal pressure dents and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
