Manufactured in 1886. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. CT. USA., " COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" etched panel on the left side of the barrel. The serial number, "16028" is stamped in two lines on the bottom of the bird's head grip just ahead of the lanyard loop. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "44 CF". The loading gate is stamped with the assembly number "41". The rear face of the cylinder is properly numbered "28". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, all blue finish with niter blue trigger and hammer, with polished sides, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt in an oval at the top and a lanyard swivel on the butt.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish, with scattered flaking, (mostly on the cylinder), thinning on the back strap, with a smooth brown patina on the exposed surfaces. The original acid etched panel is excellent plus. Overall there are a few minor surface scratches. The hammer and trigger retain nearly all the fine original niter blue finish. The markings are clear. The grips are excellent. The action is excellent.
