Excellent Chicago Firearm Palm Protector Squeeze Fire Pistol with Scarce Pearl Grip Panels
Produced in the 1890s. Barrel is rebated at the muzzle, with a serrated band at the midpoint decorated with raised floral engraving, with the frame similarly decorated around the pearl panel and knurling in the same area on the cover plate. Within the panels, the frame is marked "THE PROTECTOR/ PAT.MCH.6.83.AUG.29.93", and the opposite side is marked "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./ CHICAGO. ILL." A grip safety has been fitted to the middle finger rest, and the squeezable backstrap has a contoured, oval, hard rubber panel with diamond patterns and checkering. Matching numbers are present on the side plate, magazine and frame, with "IN'S." marked on the inside of the frame. The frame and plate each are fitted with a circular mother of pearl grip panel.
