Manufactured in 1884. The barrel has the two line block letter address on top and the left barrel side had "COLT HOUSE 38" in an original acid etched panel. The five round fluted cylinder has alternating British proofs between the chambers at the rear. The revolver is fitted with "Cop & Thug" style two piece checkered black hard rubber grips featuring "COLT" in an oval at the top and a scene of a knife-wielding criminal attacking a policeman brandishing a revolver. As the saying goes, "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight"!

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% of the bright original high polish blue finish, with the barrel, top strap and cylinder thinning to a mixture of blue finish and a smooth brown patina. The frame shows edge wear and flaking on the right side and underside. The back strap and butt retain 95% of the bright original blue finish with streaks of smooth brown patina. The grips are excellent showing little wear and scattered light handling marks. The markings including the original acid etched panel are clear. Mechanically excellent.
