Excellent British No. 4 MK I (T) Sniper Rifle Less Scope
British WWII No.4 MK I (T) sniper rifle manufactured by BSA in 1945. This rifle is a No.4 MKI rifle that was selected for accuracy during production and shipped to Holland & Holland for conversion to sniper configuration. The gunsmiths at Holland & Holland carefully bedded the rifle barrel for maximum accuracy, fitted a cheekpiece on the stock, modified the rear sight, installed mounting blocks on the left side of the receiver and fitted the rifle with a No. 32 Telescopic Sight. The sight number was stamped on the rifle wrist. The No.4 MKI (T) is generally considered to be the most accurate and rugged sniper rifle issued by any army during WWII. The underside of the stock is stamped with the H&H conversion code "S51". The telescopic sight number "19636" is stamped on the stock wrist. The code "TR" indicating the rifle was selected for installation of a telescopic sight is stamped on the left side of the butt socket below the serial number. The markings on the left side of the receiver were removed during conversion and the receiver is stamped with the "T" marking found on all No.4 MKI (T) sniper rifles. The serial number, "T33439" is stamped on the left side of the butt socket, the rear of the bolt handle and the underside of the forearm. All of the serial numbers match. The rifle is missing the No. 32 Telescopic Sight, transit case and accessories. It retains the U.S. M1907 leather sling issued with all No.4 MKI(T) Sniper Rifles, a green canvas breech cover and a canvas muzzle cover.
