Excellent Belgium Browning Master Engraver Funken Signed Grade III Superposed Shotgun with Tolex Cas
Manufactured in Belgium in 1957, this Grade III shotgun features blue barrels and a satin coin finish on the remaining metal. Single brass bead sight on the matte vent rib, 2 3/4" chambers, choked modified/improved cylinder with ejectors. The action is engraved with a simple scroll design, with two cock pheasants fighting and three quail in the background on the left side, seven pheasants on the right side in a field scene and a hunting dog with a game bird in it's mouth on the bottom. The break lever, trigger guard and forearm hardware also have a fine scroll pattern. Each side of the receiver is signed by Master Engraver Felix Funken. These Funken engraved Brownings are some of the rarest and most desirable to collectors. Funken retired in 1960 and passed away in 1966. Gold washed single trigger, long tang, tang mounted safety/selector and mounted with fancy, high gloss checkered walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with a plastic Browning buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4". Complete in a Browning Tolex case with royal blue lining.

Condition: Excellent. The barrels retain 99% original blue finish with some minor wear on the lower barrel ahead of the forearm. The remaining metal also retains 99% original satin coin finish with some light wear and a few minor scratches on the trigger guard. The wood is excellent with 98% original finish, showing some edge wear on the stock flats, overall some minor dings and scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is near excellent on the exterior and the lining shows some minor contact wear.
