Excellent 1942 Dated Luftwaffe Honor Goblet with Presentation Inscription and Documentation
Also known as the Ehrenpokal, the Luftwaffe Honor Goblet was intended as a "non-portable" award for aircrewman, sponsored by the German aviation industry. Hammered silver plated "Alpaka" alloy construction (proper for 1942 and later), 8 3/4" tall with wood base, 4" wide across the mouth, the main body is decorated on one side with a raised scene of two eagles fighting in mid-air, a hilly landscape beneath them, and the reverse showing a raised, 1939 dated iron cross. Around the stem is a raised oak leaf pattern over "FELDWEBEL KARL FESER AM 15.12.42", and the base is marked "FUR BESONDER LEISTUNG IM LUFTKRIEG" (roughly: for special achievements in aerial warfare). The goblet is fixed to a round wooden base. Included with the goblet is a packet of information from a previous owner, including a copy of the Luftwaffe Honor List which includes Feldwebel Feser.

Condition: Excellent, showing a dark silver patina overall, with a few small flakes to the bright alloy and light wear on the high points. Documents show mild damage. Detail is excellent on all embellishments. This would make a fine addition to any collection of Nazi awards or Luftwaffe memorabilia.
