This is an excellent example of a 1937 dated Mauser Banner Commercial contract Luger Pistol chambered in 9mm Luger. The serial number range for these 1937 dated commercial contract Lugers falls between "4710v-5000v". An estimated total production of approximately 200 manufactured and sold to numerous European countries including a small quantity to the "Electric Company of Israel". The chamber is dated 1937 and it has the standard Mauser banner on the first toggle. The left side of the barrel extension, underside of the barrel and left side of the breechblock are stamped with a single "crown/U" commercial proof acceptance mark with no other proofs on the pistol. It is in a very early commercial serial number range in the "V" block with the full serial number "4775v" stamped on the front of the frame and "4775" stamped on the left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel. The partial serial number "75" is stamped on various small parts. It is fitted with an all blue unmarked magazine with an aluminum base that is marked "4775/v". This scarce early commercial Luger has the late type hot salt blue finish, but still retained the earlier straw colored small parts and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. A very scarce and seldom encountered Mauser banner commercial contract Luger.

Condition:
Excellent with 99% of the original blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 95% of their straw colors overall. The grips are excellent overall with nice distinct sharp checkering on both sides. As noted this scarce Mauser banner commercial Luger has all matching numbers to include the magazine.
