Manufactured in early 1916. Has the standard sights on a "S A/flaming bomb/1- 16" marked barrel and the receiver has the standard markings. The bolt has the steel lot code "I8" stamped on the bottom of the safety lug. Mounted on a smooth walnut straight grip stock with grasping grooves, one reinforcing bolt, a boxed "J.F.C." cartouche on the left wrist, a circled script "P" proof on the underside of the wrist and checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor. With a parkerized Springfield Armory Model 1905 bayonet dated 1919 and a scabbard covered in green webbing and a leather tip.

Excellent, 90% plus original blue finish with some high edge wear and some scattered scratches. The stock is also excellent with some scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically fine but safety does not engage easily. The arsenal refurbished bayonet is very good with some wear. The scabbard is fine with some wear and some stitching coming undone.
