Excellent 1911 Dated Erfurt Arsenal Model 1908 Military Contract Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with 1911 Dated Leather Holster

This is an excellent example of a early Erfurt Arsenal Model 1908 Military contract Luger pistol rig. The chamber area is stamped 1911, for the year of manufacture with the standard "Crown/Erfurt" markings on the front toggle. These early Erfurt Lugers have the better higher polished blue finish and nice straw colored small parts. The right side of the barrel extension has the three standard "Crown/script letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle firing proof. It has the military style numbers with the full serial number on the major parts with the remaining small parts stamped with the last two digits (99). This example has had the later hold-open device added. The various parts are correctly stamped with the "crown/script letter" proof and/or the "crown/RC" Erfurt inspector proofs. As noted this early Luger has two matching magazines (one of which is professionally renumbered) with the nickel plated bodies and the wooden bases that are both stamped "8799/Crown D" Script letter proof. It is complete with an early brown leather holster that is stamped on the inside "J.M. ESKART/ULM/1911" with two additional ink stamps "BAXIII/1911" and "2W. EAB29".
