Excellent 06/24 BERN Swiss Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Holster
This is a excellent example of a 06/24 Luger as produced in Switzerland at the BERN factory. These were the first true Swiss manufactured Lugers that were completely produced in the Bern factory for the Swiss Armed Forces. There were approximately 17,000 total produced starting with serial number 15,216. These models were the last standard 1906 frame models produced, as Switzerland transitioned to the later much simplified production of the 1929 model. The top of the chamber area is blank and the rear toggle link is marked with the small Swiss cross over "WAFFENFABRIK / BERN". The left side of the barrel extension has the a small Swiss proof that consists of a single small cross over the letter "M" control proof of Col. Muhlemann. The left rear of the barrel, right side of the toggle, barrel extension and frame directly ahead of the trigger are marked with a small Swiss cross. It has the standard 1906 features such as the polished lower safety area, no stock lug, grip safety and fast taper barrel in 7.65mm Luger. The serial numbers are correctly marked in the commercial fashion with the main number located on the underside of the barrel and the front of the frame with a "7" visible on the left side of the toggle. It has the original Swiss checkered walnut grips with the smooth border around the edges and is complete with one nickel plated, wooden base Swiss magazine. The pistol has the all rust blued metal finish with the straw colored small parts. Complete with an original brown leather flap holster with a Swiss cross in a shield on the inside of the flap and makers stamp, "L. ROCHAT / 16 / ST. IMIER" on the back between the belt loops.
