Queen Victoria Envelope, 1889, ½ Anna Green Cover, Intaglio Seal, dispatched from Bikaner to Ladnu, Imperial post office postmark “BIKANEER | MA. 1 | 89”, cancellation seal of BIKANER RAJ DAK in Devanagari that reads “Sri | Mohur Dak | Raj Sri | Bikaner | Deshnok (?) in intaglio. Delivery postmark “LADNU | MA 3|89” of the envelope being applied on 3rd May 1889 at the time of delivery in Ladnun, very good condition, highly rare Cancellation used, Exceedingly Rare.
Note: The native state Daks (posts) were carried on Camelbacks, ‘Ladnun’ is a small town that was in ‘Jodhpur State’ during the period of this cover, currently it is in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan state.
