Jahangir (AH 1014-1037/1605-1627 AD), Bang Mint, Silver Square Rupee, AH 1021, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada & flag mast or boat to the left, within a square, four Caliphs' names around, Rev: Persian legend "Noor ud din Muhammad Jahangir Badshah Ghazi" and sana 1021 Hijri, “zarb Bang” at the bottom, 10.59g, 18.58 x 18.61mm (Unlisted in KM), test marks, about very fine, Exceedingly Rare.
Note: This Jahangir coin bears a resemblance to Akbar’s standard Bangala type, listed as KM-86. It adopts the familiar Bangala calligraphy seen in earlier Akbar coins, but with the reverse couplet replaced by Jahangir’s royal text, “Noor ud din Jahangir Badshah Ghazi.” Interestingly, the coin features a unique element, portraying either a flag mast or a boat vessel with three masts.
