Pre-Stamp Cover, 1852, Pubna to Calcutta (?), Bearing 2½ As., this pre-stamp cover is an “Ex-Maharani Swarnamoyee Correspondence” that has a dispatched postmark of a rectangular shape in Black ink that clearly reads “PUBNA | 19th July 52 | Bearing 2 ½ As”, date and value are handwritten. This cover is from the Maharani Swarnamoyee of Cossimbazar Rajbari with the Pubna (currently in Bangladesh) postmark that is perhaps unrecorded and enormously difficult to appear. The Bengali manuscript on the cover is the title of Maharani which reads as “Mahamhim Mahimarnab Shril Shreeyukta Mahabanikanthamayi Mahasaya Prabalpratapeshu”, the instant cover is unrecorded, fair condition, Exceedingly Rare.

Note: This mail was probably sent to Calcutta which was carried by boat. It was sent from Pubna or Pabna as it is known today, it is situated on the banks of the Ichamati river. Currently, it is an important economical city in Bangladesh under the Raj Shahi division.  Pre-Stamp cover from Bangladesh is difficult to encounter and missing from various collections.
