She writes: "<I>It has been a great pleasure to meet you and spend time with you. I hope we are able to work together again. Your friend and admirer Evita Duarte.</B></I>" Fine condition. Eva Peron (1919-1952) arrived in Buenos Aires in pursuit of an acting career, and instead became a powerful leader speaking out in favor of labor rights and the rights of women in Argentina. Her declining health was a major factor in her failed bid for the Vice-Presidency.
