First day cover celebrating the 1953 first ascent of Mt. Everest, signed by four members of the expedition: George Band, Mike Westmacott, George Lowe and Alfred Gregory. Postmarked 2 October 1953, the envelope is stamped: ''First Day Cover / Indian Post & Telegraphs'' and features a photo of Sir Edmund Hillary at the summit of Everest. 6'' x 3.5'' cover has moderate toning, not affecting signatures, else very good condition.
