Evans .44 caliber lever action repeating rifle with barrel marked “Evans Sporting Rifle” believed to have been assembled by E. G. Ridout and Company or G.W. Turner and Ross of Boston who bought remaining inventories after the bankruptcyof the company. Refer Flayderman 13 – 018. The rifle remains in very good plus condition showing 75% to 85% original blue drifting to a patina with some scattered light to moderate erosion and just beginning small areas of pinprick pitting. Thestocks are also very good plus with fairly crisp checkering on the forend, minor marks, slight scratches and just normal age. The action works well and the bore is at least very good plus. The rifle shows standard factory sights and 30” roundbarrel. A frontier era lever action and competitor to Winchester. Est.: $1250-$2500
