European swept hilt rapier circa late 16th to early 17th century showing 42 ¼” blade and nearly 48” overall. The blade, hilt and pommel are all genuine to the period and well matched. The wood grip is an old replacement wrapped with copperwire and possibly a colonial era repair. The pommel is loose upon the blade. The metal surfaces show some pitting and aging. Rapiers are disappearing and this one would improve with minor restoration. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
