Produced by an unknown smith, with the date "1643" on a bone panel on the stock comb. Dovetailed blade front and notch rear sights, with light engraving and a silver inlaid floral vine design at the breech. The lock plate runs 7 1/2" long, with a heart shaped cutout in the wheel guard, protective plates on the hammer and hammer spring, sliding pan cover, long fence and a flip-up side guard on the pan. Single trigger, set into a fruit pattern bone panel with a grooved finger rest trigger guard. Smooth full length stock, with extensive bone paneling and furniture, including geometric patterned ramrod pipes, checkerboard tip, unmarked bone tipped ramrod, scroll and dot patterns, straight borders, floral discs, designs of rabbits leaping from tree stumps on the left side of the forearm, dogs on the right, with another rabbit on the patch box, a pair of hunting dogs taking down a boar opposite the lock plate, another geometric panel along the edge of the cheekpiece below a scene of a unicorn running through the woods.

Condition: Fair, with a bright gray patina on the steel with pitting and handling marks. The silver inlay has turned a dark antique color. Front sight, side guard and hammer are loose, with a section of the trigger guard reattached with rivets. Stock is refinished, with a few cracks and dings, along with a few lost or cracked sections of bone.
