European Flintlock Conversion of a Wheelock Rifle

Blade front and drift adjustable notch rear sights, with a gently swamped muzzle, "Ioman Solts In Rrems" on the top flat, light engraving on the breech and tang, and a base for a flip-up sight just behind the tang. The lock plate is engraved with a scene of a goat jumping between rocks in the mountains, with a heavy rear trigger, straight wire front trigger, and a grooved hand rest trigger guard with a copper thumb rest on the right side of the stock. Full length stock, with a brass tip and ramrod pipes, horn tipped ramrod, checkered forearm, raised carved designs around the trigger guard, scroll bordered brass reverse plate and accent panels, a right handed cheekpiece with a brass shod sliding patch box lid on the reverse, and a brass cupped buttplate.

Very good. The steel components show a mixed brown and gray patina overall. The touch hole appears to be reconverted from percussion, and the action needs adjustment. The stock is good, with some mended chips ahead of the lock plate, scattered minor cracks and dents, and well executed carving.
